Nutrition and Food Science span a wide range of topics across vastly differing scales, ranging from cellular metabolism to large scale industrial economic systems of food production and distribution in today’s increasingly global world. The enticing meal shown represents the ancient Thali diet as discussed by authors Shondelmyer et al., who argue that this traditional diet may have particular health benefits lacking from the highly processed foods commonly found in many modern diets.
