Erratum for the Research Article: “Coming out in STEM: Factors affecting retention of sexual minority STEM students” by B. E. Hughes

PMCID: PMC6068014  PMID: 30079378

In the article “Coming out in STEM: Factors affecting retention of sexual minority STEM students,” the text wrongly stated that sexual minority college students are 8% less likely than heterosexuals to persist in STEM after 4 years versus switching to a non-STEM field. The error stemmed from a minor computational mistake and appeared in the abstract, discussion, and results sections of the main text and in the paper’s summary statement. The text was corrected in all instances to state that sexual minority college students are 7% less likely than heterosexuals to persist in STEM after 4 years versus switching to a non-STEM field. The HTML and PDF (full text) were corrected 8 June 2018.
