Corrigendum

PMCID: PMC6095170  PMID: 30191904

In the Review article by Jonathan K Mitchell & David R McGivern, ‘Mechanisms of hepatocarcinogenesis in chronic hepatitis C’, which appeared in the July 2014 issue of Hepatic Oncology (Hepatic Oncol. 1[3], 293–307 [2014]), the reference notes were published incorrectly. The correct reference notes are:

  • [6–8] Identification of driver genes in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

  • [20–22] Humanized mouse models of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Future advances in this field may allow more authentic modeling of HCV-associated liver disease (including carcinogenesis) during chronic infection.

  • [24] First report demonstrating HCC development in mice with liver-specific expression of HCV protein.

  • [51] Downregulation of a host tumor suppressor in the context of HCV infection.

  • [88,89] Identification of host genetic factors that increase the risk of progression to HCC in patients with chronic hepatitis C.

The authors and editors would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused our readers.
