Missouri Medicine announces a new member of its Editorial Board. Board members are selected on the basis of exceptional professional accomplishment and expertise in their specialty.
Jose M. Dominguez, MD, MSMA member since 2005, is the new Colon and Rectal Surgery board member. Dr. Dominguez practices at the Ferrell-Duncan Clinic with Cox Health Systems in Springfield, Missouri.

Michael Bukstein, MD, MSMA member since 1976, spoke at the Northeast Missouri C.H.A.R.T. Partnership meeting about cancer trends for northeast Missouri residents. He has served in many leadership roles, including Vice President of MSMA and Past President of the Northeast Missouri Medical Society, the Missouri Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and the Missouri Surgical Society. In 2011, he was honored with the President’s Award at MSMA Annual Convention.
Congratulations to MSMA member since 1980, David Caplin, MD, on the hosting of another successful event with the Gateway to Hope Gala, called KaleidoHope, held Oct. 1, in St. Louis.
Drs. Charles F. Cockerell, Michelle McIntosh, and Hoanh Nguyen, recently held a ribbon cutting for their new office in Higginsville. Their combined years of membership in MSMA - more than 45 years - is wonderfully appreciated.
Humam Farah, MD, of Hannibal, recently traveled to Israel as part of a worldwide study of lung disease Alpha-1, with the goal of developing a cure. Dr. Farah has been an MSMA member since 2014.
One of MSMA’s very own student members, Alex Goodson, was published in the Columbia Missourian on Oct. 23 with his guest commentary, titled, “Real value in med school review lies in guiding improvement.”

Donald Kuenzi, MD, MSMA member since 1977, received the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Medicine Distinguished Service Award at the MU Alumni Awards program. He is a retired family physician in Kansas City, and a longtime volunteer and board member of Health Teams International, a Christian-based medical and dental mission organization that seeks to provide medical and dental services in underserved countries worldwide.

In just a few short years, Bradley J. Moore, MD, has not only joined MSMA, but also expanded his practice from Phoenix Urology in St. Joseph to now treating patients at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

Congratulations to Rick Wright, MD, inductee into the 2016 Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Dr. Wright has been the team physician for the National Hockey League’s St. Louis Blues since 1997. He also was a team physician with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1998 to 2006 and the NFL’s St. Louis Rams from 1994 to 2016. What an honor to call this physician an MSMA member since 1996.
