Missouri Medicine announces a new member of its Editorial Board. Board members are selected on the basis of exceptional professional accomplishment and expertise in their specialty.

Gary G. Singer, MD, MSMA member since 2005, is the new Nephrology board member. Dr. Singer is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo., and founding partner of Midwest Nephrology Associates in St. Peters, Mo.

Wesley Frevert, MD, has joined Rockhill Orthopaedics in Kansas City. His father practices there, too, and they have been members of MSMA for a combined total of 25 years.

A new MSMA member this year, Daut Gjoni, MD, has expanded his services from Cameron into Lathrop.

MSMA member since 1988, Stephen Halpin, MD, has been honored by Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal for his commitment to healing, touching lives, and providing quality health care.

Brett Hosley, DO, recently joined Hannibal Regional Medical Group as medical director for inpatient rehabilitation, and has been an MSMA member for 25 years.

MSMA wishes to congratulate James B. Kelly, Jr., MD, of Kansas City, for his appointment to the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts by Governor Jay Nixon. Dr. Kelly has been an MSMA member since 1993.

Christopher Montgomery, MD, was chosen to speak before the ribbon cutting ceremony of Saint Francis Health Center in Dexter on July 22, and he’s been an MSMA member since 2006.

Mohammad Mozayen, MD, is a new MSMA member this year, and also the first physician to treat chemotherapy patients at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.

Cory Offutt, MD, has been an innovative force in MSMA since 2009 as an officer in the medical student section and a continued member through his residency. He set up practice this summer in Mountain Grove with Texas County Memorial Hospital.

An MSMA for the past 35 years, Randy Tobler, MD, has been recognized as a 2016 Outstanding Advisor by Indian Hills Community College. His work with Midwest Ambassadors for the Culinary Arts is sure to be a huge success as well.

Luke Weaver, MD, has been an MSMA member since he was a medical student at KCU in 2012. He is an inspiration to many, as a cancer survivor, and for recently joining the staff of the very same team of physicians in St. Louis who once treated him, to complete his medical residency.

One of the first people to walk a lap on the new cardiac rehabilitation track at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton is an MSMA member since 1977, Gus Wetzel, MD.
