Withdrawal from acute AMPH increases anxiety-like behavior. Compared with saline (SAL) controls (n = 9), rats that had undergone amphetamine withdrawal (AMPH-W) (n = 8) exhibited a lower number of open arm entries (p < 0.05) and b less time spent in the open arm (p < 0.05) but c no difference in the total number of entries (p = 0.84). *p < 0.05.
