Effects of maltol on CCl₄-induced expression of inflammatory mediators: western blotting was used to determine the expressions of IL-1β, TNF-α, iNOS and p-NF-κB/NF-κB (p65) to further illustrate the underlying mechanism of maltol protecting the liver from damage. We also used specific primary antibodies, and β-actin protein levels as a loading control (A). Quantification of relative protein expression was performed by densitometric analysis (B–E).
