Figure 1

Fumigant toxicities of oriental sweetgum, valerian oil, a full mixture, and selected blends of the constituents in Japanese termite adults 7 days after treatment. The concentrations of oriental sweetgum and valerian oil were 2.5 and 10 mg/L air, respectively. The concentrations of the full mixture of oriental sweetgum and valerian oil were 2.37 and 9.24 mg/L air, respectively. The concentrations of the other blends were determined by removing each constituent equivalent to the ratio identified in oriental sweetgum oil. Mean values corresponding to each treatment with different letters are significantly different from each other (oriental sweetgum oil: F13, 56 = 250.66, p < 0.0001; valerian oil: F6, 28 = 1057.90, p < 0.0001, Scheffé’s test).
