Compulsory physical activity results in the sustained increase of Gal-1 expression in the gastrocnemius (GA) muscle of mdx mice. The mdx mouse presents a higher level of Gal-1 than its age matched C57 before (B versus A, 4 weeks) and after the period of physical activity (D versus C, 9 weeks).
