Retraction of: The Ephrin A1–EphA2 System Promotes Cardiac Stem Cell Migration After Infarction

For the article “The Ephrin A1-EphA2 System Promotes Cardiac Stem Cell Migration After Infarction” (Circ Res. 2011;108:1071–1083; DOI: 10.1161/CIRCRESAHA.110.239459) by Polina Goichberg, Yingnan Bai, Domenico D’Amario, João Ferreira-Martins, Claudia Fiorini, Hanqiao Zheng, Sergio Signore, Federica del Monte, Sergio Ottolenghi, David A. D’Alessandro, Robert E. Michler, Toru Hosoda, Piero Anversa, Jan Kajstura, Marcello Rota, and Annarosa Leri, an investigation by Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) has determined that there were issues with some of the data reported in the article, specifically Figures 1E, 1B, 2E, and 3B (top and bottom panels). An expression of concern was published on November 20, 2018,¹ to alert readers that the American Heart Association was communicating with the authors and reviewing the materials provided by BWH. After considering input from authors, the American Heart Association has determined that the best interest of the public and the research community will be served by issuing this notice of retraction.

The American Heart Association, therefore, retracts the article.
