It is my pleasure to let you know that from 2019, Journal of Biomedical Physics and Engineering (JBPE) will be published in 6 issues as we are elevating from a quarterly journal to a bimonthly one. The first issue of JBPE will be published online in early February 2019.
We continue our mission in publishing high quality research and advancing science and technology in the field of biomedical engineering and thus promoting the field. Last year, we received over 300 original research paper and the acceptance rate of our journal was just under 30%. We received submissions from over 30 countries across the globe and have been visited about 50000 time in 2018. We expect that the number of submission continues growing this year, however, the acceptance rate will still be under 30% to keep the quality of the publications.
JBPE has been indexed by a number of leading indexing databases including PubMed, Scopus and EBSCO that has increased our visibility considerably. Our CiteScore has increased from 0.63 in 2016 to 0.98 in 2017 and to 1.25 in 2018 that shows a steep rise in the performance of our journal. Similarly, in different categories covered by JBPE, our ranking has moved up each year. Overall, the statistics indicate that we have become more visible nationally and internationally and, therefore, our readership has increased accordingly.
We will continue our open access policy in 2019 as we believe that knowledge should be available to the society and the researchers in the field freely. Furthermore, fast track review process will be available upon paying a small fee. The reviewers’ feedback will be available to you within two weeks following the submission when fast track review is chosen. The premium publishing is still available and your paper can be published in the earliest coming issue when the premium publishing fee is paid.
I would like to thank our editorial team and reviewers that without their help and support, we would not be able to keep publishing our journal in a timely manner. Finally, I would like to thank all the authors who selected JBPE to publish their research since the birth of our journal and I would like to see more high quality research in 2019.
