Correction for Xu et al., Descending pathway facilitates undulatory wave propagation in Caenorhabditis elegans through gap junctions

PMCID: PMC6442624  PMID: 30886096

NEUROSCIENCE, BIOPHYSICS AND COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY Correction for “Descending pathway facilitates undulatory wave propagation in Caenorhabditis elegans through gap junctions,” by Tianqi Xu, Jing Huo, Shuai Shao, Michelle Po, Taizo Kawano, Yangning Lu, Min Wu, Mei Zhen, and Quan Wen, which was first published April 23, 2018; 10.1073/pnas.1717022115 (Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 115:E4493–E4502).

The authors note that, on page E4495, Eq. 2 appeared incorrectly. The equation should appear as:

τη=CNb(λ2π)430ηb(λ2π)4

The authors also note that, in the Supporting Information, page 1, right column, line 3, “Cm = 4.5 nF” should instead appear as “Cm = 4.5 pF;” in the same line, “c = 0.6 mm” should instead appear as “c = 0.65 mm;” and in line 4, τη=CNb(2πλ)430ηb(2πλ)4should instead appear as τη=CNb(λ2π)430ηb(λ2π)4.

Also, on page 2 of the Supporting Information, in Equation S14, line 3 appeared incorrectly. That part of the equation should appear as:

CmdVvidt=gL(VviEL)gCam(Vvi)*(VviECa)gKnvi*(VviEK)cki1+g(VAVBVvi).

Also, on page 3 of the Supporting Information, left column, final paragraph, line 5, “Cm = 3.0 nF” should instead appear as “Cm = 3.0 pF”; in the right column, line 1, τη=CNb(2πλ)430ηb(2πλ)4should instead appear as τη=CNb(λ2π)430ηb(λ2π)4; in line 3, “gm = 100 pS” should be deleted; in line 4, “β = 1” should be deleted and “c′ = 5 * 10−10 A/m” should instead appear as “c′ = 5 * 10−16 A*m”; and, in line 5, “E0 = –60 mV” should be deleted. The SI has been corrected online.
