Correction for Wieczynski et al., Climate shapes and shifts functional biodiversity in forests worldwide

PMCID: PMC6462055  PMID: 30936297

ECOLOGY Correction for “Climate shapes and shifts functional biodiversity in forests worldwide,” by Daniel J. Wieczynski, Brad Boyle, Vanessa Buzzard, Sandra M. Duran, Amanda N. Henderson, Catherine M. Hulshof, Andrew J. Kerkhoff, Megan C. McCarthy, Sean T. Michaletz, Nathan G. Swenson, Gregory P. Asner, Lisa Patrick Bentley, Brian J. Enquist, and Van M. Savage, which was first published December 24, 2018; 10.1073/pnas.1813723116 (Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 116:587–592).

The authors note that on page 587, right column, first paragraph, lines 6–7, “We assigned trait information to individual trees greater than 2 cm in diameter in all communities” should instead appear as “We assigned trait information to individual trees in all communities.” Additionally, on page 592, left column, second full paragraph, lines 1–2, “Species identities and abundances were determined for all individuals ≥2 cm in diameter within each forest plot” should instead appear as “Species identities and abundances were determined for individuals with diameters ≥1 cm in 30 in situ plots, ≥2 cm in 36 in situ plots, and ≥2.5 cm in the 355 BIEN plots.”

The authors also note that Dataset S1 appeared incorrectly. The SI has been corrected online.
