Regulation of interferon-stimulated gene (ISG) transcript levels following infection with intact or ultraviolet (UV)-irradiated human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) in cells with an abrogated interferon (IFN) response. Primary human foreskin fibroblasts (HFs), nPro expressing HFs (nPro/HFs) and V protein-expressing HFs (V/HFs) were infected in parallel with HCMV or UV-HCMV at an MOI of 3. 6 h.p.i. RNA was extracted, converted to cDNA and the relative levels of various ISG transcripts (normalised to the housekeeping gene GAPDH) were calculated.
