D prime is significantly increased compared to placebo (Plac) by the 200 and 400 mg doses of modafinil (A). This modafinil-induced enhancement of signal detection was driven by a strong trend toward improved hit rate (target detection) in these groups (B). No significant effects of modafinil were observed in terms of false alarm rate (C), mean reaction time (D), or reaction time variability (E), at the doses tested.
