Following a review of our data post-publication, we found the incorrect control HAp microspheres morphologies images were used for Figure 1A and B. The correct SEM morphologies of the HAp microspheres for Figure 1A and B are shown in this corrigendum. This correction of images has no impact to the findings of the study. The authors apologize for this error.
