Professor Yutaka Seino (Chair, Asian Association for the Study of Diabetes (AASD), will open the seminar with a brief introduction about AASD and its official English journal entitled Journal of Diabetes Investigation (JDI). He will cover the history of JDI from its launch in 2010, to its transition to an open access journal in 2014, and how the Journal will develop in the future.

Prof Daisuke Yabe (Editor, JDI) will speak about “how to write a manuscript of your research in English and get accepted for publication” by sharing his experience as an editor and a reviewer. His presentation will contain useful tips on the manuscript preparation process, from writing and preparing a great article to ensuring it is seen, read, and cited. Prof Yabe will include advice on how to respond to reviewers and information Search Engine Optimization (SEO), maximizing an article’s discoverability, and author self‐promotion. He will also cover how Altmetrics are used measure the impact of your research. Importantly, Prof Yabe will emphasize that your article should be written in easy‐to‐understand and convincing language in order to increase your chance of having it accepted for publication.
