In this news in brief paragraph (19 January, p 130) we wrongly reported that 39 couples had to have their eggs destroyed after poor record keeping at the Hampshire Clinic and the North Hampshire Hospital's fertility centre in Basingstoke. It should have read embryos, not eggs, and they have not yet been destroyed. The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority has commissioned a report from an independent embryologist into what should happen with the embryos. Meanwhile the two doctors facing a court hearing have had their initial court appearance postponed until 22 February.
