In the article by S. Rotshenker (Transneuronal and Peripheral Mechanisms for the Induction of Motor Neuron Sprouting. Journal of Neuroscience 2: 1359–1368, 1982), the legend to Figure 2 was inadvertently omitted. The legend should read:
Figure 2. A muscle fiber innervated by two myelinated axons (A) at a single endplate (e.p.) site.
In addition, the last sentence of the second paragraph on page 1367 should read: “The observation that axons isolated from their cell bodies do not sprout unless they also are exposed to colchicine presents some difficulty in adopting this hypothesis to these experimental conditions since axotomy that interferes with axonal transport was not by itself sufficient either to produce sprouting or to prevent it following the application of colchicine.”
We regret any confusion that these errors may have caused.
