Summary
The fluorescence properties of 1, N 6 -ethenoadenosine (εAdo) dissolved in 1:1 volume by volume of ethylene glycol and phosphate buffer (EGW) at pH 7.0 - 2.0 and at 293 - 77 K have been studied. In acidic media, a large blue-shifted fluorescence is observed with lowering the temperature. At 77 K, the spectral shape of εAdo fluorescence depends upon its degree of protonation. From the present results obtained, it is characterized that the fluorescence are emitted from both the neutral and the protonated forms.
