In the article entitled, “Western Diet–Induced Dysbiosis in Farsenoid X Receptor Knockout Mice Causes Persistent Hepatic Inflammation after Antibiotic Treatment” (Volume 187, pages 1800–1813 of the August 2017 issue of The American Journal of Pathology; http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ajpath.2017.04.019), there is an inaccuracy in the Introduction related to references 18 and 19. The published sentence “However, tissue-specific FXR knockout (KO) mice, including liver and intestines, do not spontaneously develop liver cancer.18,19” is not an accurate reflection of the information contained in the two references, and should be replaced with: “However, hepatocyte-specific FXR knockout (KO) mice do not spontaneously develop liver cancer and intestinal FXR KO mice are protected from diet-induced fatty liver.18,19

Additionally, original reference #18 needs to be updated and is being replaced with:
