This issue of the Indian Journal of Anaesthesia is the postgraduate special issue on 'Current Concepts in Paediatric Anaesthesia'.

It is a blend of a review of well-known and well-established facts that all anaesthesiologists should know, as well as current concepts and recent advances in the field. The eleven articles focus on general issues related to perioperative management of the paediatric patient, rather than to system-specific or procedure-specific management.

This issue could not have seen the light of day without the timely contributions from the authors, the expertise and constructive criticisms of our expert reviewers, and especially the meticulous and incisive editorial skills and inputs of the editors of this issue: IJA Section Editor for paediatric anaesthesia, Prof. Anila Malde, Associate Editor Prof. Sandhya Yaddanapudi and Assistant Editor Dr. Jeson Doctor.

This issue is the final product of the expertise of the authors, reviewers and editors. We hope that all readers of the IJA will find it useful and enlightening.
