Correction to “Induction of CYP26A1 by Metabolites of Retinoic Acid: Evidence That CYP26A1 Is an Important Enzyme in the Elimination of Active Retinoids”

In the above article [Topletz AR, Tripathy S, Foti RS, Shimshoni JA, Nelson, WL, and Isoherranen N (2015) Mol Pharmacol 87: 430-441; DOI: 10.1124/mol.114.096784], a review of the raw data supporting the article found discrepancies between that data and the data shown in the article. In Figure 3, the CRABP-I and CRABP-II bars were found to present mRNA data that were not quantifiable and partially undetermined. As such, the statement on page 436, lines 11-13 should read “CRABPs were not expressed in treated or untreated human hepatocytes.”

The data in Figure 7a were found to not represent the time course of CYP26A1 mRNA, nor did the mRNA quality in the experiment merit quantification. This time course (Figure 7a) should be omitted from the article.

These changes do not affect the conclusions or any other findings of the manuscript, and all the other data in the article are consistent with the raw data obtained.
