For the article by Hafekost et al., “Maternal Alcohol Use Disorder and Risk of Child Contact with the Justice System in Western Australia: A Population Cohort Record Linkage Study,” 2017, 41: 1452–1460, we have the following point of clarification: The criminal justice system also includes contact with police that did not result in a formal charge (i.e., cautions, warnings, juvenile justice team referrals), charges lodged in court that did not result in a sentence (withdrawals, dismissals, and acquittals), and charges lodged in court that resulted in a sentence other than a community order (such as fines, no penalties imposed). These types of justice contact have not been included in this article.
