There is an error in the second paragraph of the Introduction: the critical levels of population immunity required to interrupt rabies transmission were given as 25–40% instead of 20–45%. The sentence should read as follows.
This target coverage is supported by empirical evidence and theory, which indicates that a 70% coverage achieved during campaigns should maintain population immunity above the critical levels (20–45%) required to interrupt rabies transmission (Coleman & Dye 1996; Cleaveland et al. 2003; Hampson et al. 2009).
