Abstract

In article number https://doi.org/10.1002/advs.201902054, Zhanshan (Sam) Ma and Wendy Li address the questions how and why men and women differ in their microbiomes by performing medical ecology and network analyses of the microgenderome. The study provides the first reference/baseline/guideline for investigating the sex‐specific disease‐susceptibility and optimized prevention/treatment strategies of microbiome‐associated diseases, particularly of certain autoimmune diseases including type‐1‐diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease.
