Abstract
Recent advances in genome editing using CRISPR-Cas9 and related technologies have revolutionized the ability to manipulate genes in a rapid, precise, and flexible manner. These advances have spurred an explosion of interest in the possible ways in which genome editing can improve human health. I will provide an overview of CRISPR-Cas systems, the structure and function of CRISPR-Cas9, and the repurposing of CRISPR-Cas9 for genome engineering.
Keywords: Cas9, structure, function
