On May 19, 2015, more than a year after the above-cited article was published, Gao Hong-Hua e-mailed the Journal to request the removal of grant support from the article's text. It should be noted that the article went through three drafts before acceptance and then author approval of the galley proofs. Carol Shoshkes Reiss, the Editor-in-Chief of DNA and Cell Biology, contacted each of the authors of the article to inquire why this unusual request was made; Gao Hong-Hua, Gao Lian Bo, and Wen Jia Mei each indicated that the work was performed without grant support and that they carelessly prepared the article, copying the Acknowledgments section from another article. The National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Chinese Medical University in Shenyang have been notified of the authors' request and reason.
