Correction

PMCID: PMC6913837  PMID: 25928834

An original research report appearing in the March 1, 2015 issue of Stem Cells and Development, (vol 24, no.5; 575–586), “Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stromal Cells Affected by Gestational Diabetes Mellitus Display Premature Aging and Mitochondrial Dysfunction” by Kim et al. (2015) requires a correction.

The original Figure 2 in the submission to Stem Cells and Development contained only four images (A–D). When re-casting the figure to include a further panel for a revised version of the manuscript, the authors mistakenly replaced the figure content for Panel D. The corrected figure in its entirety including the correct, originally submitted, panel D appears below. Furthermore, the panel E added to figure 2 in response to the reviewers contained erroneous content. The editor-in-chief has reviewed images of the relevant laboratory books submitted by the corresponding author and is satisfied with the offered explanation: “He [first author] did the experiment with five cell lines (two normal MSC cell lines of U111 and BU30N; three GD-MSC cell lines of BU76D, BU121t1D, BU121t2D). BU stands for Bungdang Hospital, where one of co-author works (we obtained umbilical cord from two hospitals. Writing as BU is our internal rule). BU121 cell lines obtained from twin babies, therefore those were named as BU121t1D and BU121t2D. After Western experiments, Jooyeon did a mistake when he edited the figure. He should have made Figure 2E with boxed areas instead of copying BU121t2D4 p53 figure for beta-actin.”
