The Supplementary material originally published with this article was incorrect. This has now been replaced and a reference to the material added to the online article in the following sentence:

“The self-relationship of the MFs in the unrelated scenario is very similar to the values found for pigs (Xiang et al., 2017), and close to the expected value of 2/3 when assuming that base generation allele frequencies are uniformly distributed (see Supplementary Appendix 1).”
