Production of pro-inflammatory cytokines by SVCs from CON and HFD mice (A) MCP-1 (ng/mL), (B) IL-6 (pg/mL), (C) IL-1β (pg/mL), and (D) TNF-α (pg/mL). SVCs were treated with vehicle (0.1% ethanol) or 1,25(OH)2D3 (10 nM) for 24 h before being stimulated with LPS (0.1 μg/mL) for another 24 hr. Data are presented as mean ± SEM, n = 9~10 for each group. A paired t-test was used to determine the significant effect of in vitro 1,25(OH)2D3 treatment and * indicates a significant difference (p < 0.05).
