In the article by Fisk et al, “Surrogate Markers of Cardiovascular Risk and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Large Case-Controlled Study,” which published online on January 22, 2018, and appeared in the March 2018 issue of the journal (Hypertension. 2018;71:499–506. DOI: 10.1161/HYPERTENSIONAHA.117.10151), a correction is needed.
On p 503, Table 4, in the augmentation index footnote, “Variables that were not independently associated with AIx,” total cholesterol mmol/L is listed, when it is associated-as shown in the table. This is removed and the footnote is corrected to read, “Variables that were not independently associated with AIx: cholesterol-reducing therapy (yes/no), angina (yes/no), myocardial infarction (yes/no), stroke (yes/no), peripheral vascular disease (yes/no), triglycerides (mmol/L), antihypertensive therapy (yes/no).”
