Corrigendum to Cusick et al. Delaying Iron Therapy Until 28 Days After Antimalarial Treatment is Associated with Greater Iron Incorporation and Equivalent Hematologic Recovery After 56 Days in Children: A Randomized Controlled Trial

PMCID: PMC7308539  PMID: 31263880

Corrigendum to Cusick et al. Delaying Iron Therapy Until 28 Days After Antimalarial Treatment is Associated with Greater Iron Incorporation and Equivalent Hematologic Recovery After 56 Days in Children: A Randomized Controlled Trial. J Nutr 2016;146:1769–74.

Within the Methods section, under subsection “Statistical analysis,” the last sentence of the first paragraph incorrectly cited the 2006 WHO Growth Standards as the calculation method for anthropometric indexes. The sentence should read: Anthropometric indexes (z scores for height-for-age, weight-for-age, and weight-for-height) were calculated with Epi Info Version 3.5.1 [14]. With the calculation change, reference 14 has been corrected to: 14. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. [Internet]. Atlanta, GA. Epi Info. [accessed 2016 Mar 21]. https://www.cdc.gov/epiinfo/support/downloads/prevversions.html.

Two changes were made to Table 1. The P value for sex is 0.54 [and not 0.62]. Additionally, the mean WAZ z score for the delayed group was incorrectly copied from 2 rows above. It was corrected to –1.4 ± 1.1.

Finally, in the penultimate paragraph of the Results section, the phrases “among children who did not receive iron until day 28, that is, among children in the D group” and “that is, iron incorporation begun 28 d after antimalarial treatment” have been removed.
