The authors retract the article titled “Inhibition of microRNA-23b attenuates immunosuppression during late sepsis through NIK, TRAV1, and XIAP” published in the July 15, 2018 issue of the Journal of Infectious Diseases (218;300–11). An editorial expression of concern regarding this article was published in the January 15, 2019 issue of the Journal (219:339). All authors have agreed to the retraction of this article. The retraction notice follows.
In preparing the manuscript, the first author manipulated data in Fig. 4B (p52), 5A (CI-caspase-3, -8), and 6C. Regarding p52 in Figs 4B, there are discrepancies between the “raw data” and the data used for the final bar graph of the p52 protein in the Western blot quantitative data in the published article. Regarding CI-caspase-3 and CI-caspase-8 in Fig 5A, there are discrepancies between the “raw data” and the data used for the final bar graph in the published article. Regarding Fig. 6C, there is duplication for flow cytometry analysis between Sham and CLP+miR-Con for Th2 cells. In addition, there are discrepancies about the way in which the flow cytometry data for Fig. 6C for Th2 cells were calculated and presented. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the validity for the results and request retraction of this paper.
