Table 1.

Cellular stress response protein concentration. Cellular heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70), sirtuin-1 (Sirt-1), thioredoxin (Trx), gamma-glutamyl cysteine synthetase (γ-GCS) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) protein concentrations in podocytes treated with high glucose and carnosine (1 or 10 mM) alone or in combination. The derivatized proteins were separated by SDS/PAGE (see Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4), quantified and normalized to untreated cells.
