This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal (https://www.elsevier.com/about/our-business/policies/article-withdrawal).

The editors wish to retract this article after publication concerns were raised by a reader with respect to the Western blot data presented in Figure 5. These allegations were referred to the Office of Academic Ethics Committee at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine for investigation. Experts of the Investigation group reported that blots had been manipulated and duplicated in Figure 5, and that this constituted research misconduct. Specifically, the NTR3 blots in Fig. 5A had been duplicated in the Ntr3 blots shown in Fig. 5B. The p-PPARα blots in Fig. 5B had been duplicated in the ASBT blots shown in Fig.5B, and the p-PPARα blot in Fig. 5A had been modified such that the grayscale of lanes 2-4 were artificially increased compared to the raw data image. The editors therefore no longer have confidence in the integrity of these data.
