PMCID: PMC7494152  PMID: 33214935

JBJS Essential Surgical Techniques publishes corrections when they are of significance to patient care, scientific data or record-keeping, or authorship, whether that error was made by an author, editor, or staff. Errata also appear in the online version and are attached to files downloaded from surgicaltechniques.jbjs.org.

In the article entitled “Patellofemoral Arthroplasty” (JBJS Essent Surg Tech. 2019;9[2]:e15), by Odgaard et al., there was an error on page 5. Specifically, Figure 4 should have been rotated 180° in order to clarify the view for the reader. In addition, the legend that had previously read “View of a left knee from above (the surgeon’s view). The trochlear wear is mainly in the medial part. Similarly, the patellar changes were also mainly medial. This wear pattern is unusual” should have read “Intraoperative view of the trochlear portion of the distal part of a left femur (with the medial side of the femur on the left side of the photograph and the lateral side on the right). The trochlear wear is mainly on the medial side. Similarly, the patellar changes were also mainly medial. This wear pattern is unusual.”
