Obesity is Associated with Severe Forms of COVID‐19

PMCID: PMC7536951  PMID: 32959515

Cyrielle Caussy, Florent Wallet, Martine Laville, and Emmanuel Disse

After publication, the authors noticed a discrepancy between the Figure 1A legend and the text regarding the need for invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) in 291 consecutive patients admitted to ICU for SARS‐CoV‐2 between February 27 and April 8, 2020, at Lyon University Hospital. In the x‐axis, the number of patients requiring IMV has been inverted and is n = 170 instead of n = 121 and the number of patients who did not require IMV is n = 121 instead of n = 170 as well as in the Figure legend. Below is the correct figure and legend.

Figure 1.

Figure 1

(A) (A) Distribution of BMI categories in patients who required mechanical ventilation (n=170) and those who did not (n=121) (t test).

This error does not affect the data displayed in the figure and the conclusions of the paper. The authors apologize for any confusion that his error may have caused.
