Abstract

graphic file with name EMBJ-39-e105578-g007.jpg

The authors recently contacted the journal to alert the editor to errors in the manuscript.

The Seq database had been mistakenly linked to a different study by the same authors (Wu et al, Nat Commun 2018; 9: 4772). The correct Seq data are deposited in the NCBI database with the identifier GSE115789 (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/query/acc.cgi?acc=GSE115789).

The scale bars in Appendix Fig S3A were previously undefined. They are now defined as 20 μm in the legend.

Additionally, the authors would like to correct three image duplications. The journal has agreed for the authors to withdraw and replace figure panels 1F, 6M, and 7F, as described below.

In Fig 1F, the authors state that they had mistakenly used two images from the same USP34‐shRNA sample and mislabeled one of them as control (Scrambled shRNA). The authors note that other data presented in the original paper support the conclusion that the depletion of USP34 inhibits osteogenic differentiation, e.g., the in vitro USP34 siRNA data (Fig 1A–E) and the Usp34 knockout data (Figs 2 and 3). The image for the control (Scrambled shRNA) in Fig 1F is herewith replaced with data the authors state is derived from the original experiment.

The authors state that in Figure 6 they had erroneously copied the graph from 6J and re‐displayed it in 6M. The authors have provided the values for both graphs as source data, which is published with this corrigendum. Figure 6M is herewith corrected by withdrawing the duplicated graph and replacing it with a graph that the authors state is based on correct data.

The authors state that in Fig 6 they had erroneously copied the graph from 6J and re‐displayed it in 6M. The authors have provided the values for both graphs as source data, which is published with this corrigendum. Fig 6M is herewith corrected by withdrawing the duplicated graph and replacing it with a graph that the authors state is based on correct data.

The images in Fig 7F were mistakenly duplicated with those of Fig 6I. The authors provided the journal with what they state are the correct images for Fig 7F. Figure 7F is herewith corrected by withdrawing the duplicated figure and replacing it with the data the authors state represents the correct data. For the avoidance of doubt, the authors also reconfirmed the results displayed in 6I through independent experimentation (https://figshare.com/articles/figure/Confirmatory_result_for_Fig6I_tif/12720956).
