Abstract

Objectives: The audience will learn about the model of collective leadership and understand through the lens of Native and Aboriginal cultures how Core Facility management and tribal leadership correlate to one another. The lessons from this presentation will focus on: - Principals in Leadership - The collective vs hierarchical approach to leading change - How to develop a system of leadership at all levels of their team's development and organizational relationships. The content of this session will be a thought-provoking presentation on the influence of culture in leadership styles. Through my own graduate research, I have pulled from the lessons of many cultures and identified several types of structures of leadership. Collective leadership has been the most profound leadership model that when defined, presented, and discussed it is intended for the audience to walk away with ideas and tools to being implementing this leadership style within their own work and hopefully expand it into their own Institution.
