The letter to the editor titled “Coronavirus disease-2019: A brief compilation of facts” published in Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, on pages 5-7, Volume 24, Issue 1, 2020,[1] is being retracted because of having number of sections of content, though attributed, with high rate of verbatim similarity from another article titled “COVID-19 Coronavirus Epidemic Has a Natural Origin”, published in Science Daily, 17 March, 2020.[2] Plagiarism, fabrication, duplication, unethical or redundant publication violates the editorial policy of Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work.
This article has been retracted on request of the Author, Editor-in-Chief and Editorial board of the journal.
