Comparison of WT and Mutated Structures for RB1: WT: Gold; Mutant 1: Red (Ser634Pro). This protein is associated with the gene of the same name that was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The changes in the overall structure upon mutation are relatively modest, but there are some considerable changes observed at the terminal helix, which is not exposed in the mutated protein. The local structure at the mutation point is substantial, as it shows a different secondary structure.
