The past year was more turbulent than any other, with vaccinology coming to the forefront of public interest due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Equils is past Associate Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, UCLA School of Medicine; COVID-19 Outbreak response physician at Los Angeles County Department of Public Health; Medical Director at kariusdx.com; and President of an educational non-profit called MiOra. She has a broad range of research interests from basic science to clinical trials/cost effectiveness to public health to advocacy and access. Her work focuses on host immune responses, novel diagnostics, vaccines and health disparities/health literacy. Dr. Equils is passionate about preventive care and mentoring.
