Retraction: The Efficacy of Pre-Emptive Dexmedetomidine versus Amiodarone in Preventing Postoperative Junctional Ectopic Tachycardia in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery

PMCID: PMC7879892  PMID: 33109830

The original article titled “The efficacy of pre-emptive dexmedetomidine versus amiodarone in preventing postoperative junctional ectopic tachycardia in pediatric cardiac surgery” published in Annals of Cardiac Anaesthesia, on pages 614-620, Issue 4, Volume 19, 2016,[1] is being retracted because high rate of data duplication/fabrication has been observed with an article titled “Efficacy of Prophylactic Dexmedetomidine in Preventing Postoperative Junctional Ectopic Tachycardia After Pediatric Cardiac Surgery” published in Journal of the American Heart Association, Volume 6, Issue 3, 2017.[2] It was brought to the attention of the journal's editorial board, that there is substantial overlap of content in article published later in JAHA. Thus, the journal's editorial office has decided to retract the article.

Plagiarism, fabrication, unethical or redundant publication violates the editorial policy Annals of Cardiac Anaesthesia, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work.

This article has been retracted on request of the Authors and Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
