Signpost origami tagging

A DNA origami nanostructure, with a “sign” for contrast and identification and a “post” whose base contains an RNA aptamer that binds specifically to a molecular target, is added to cells containing target proteins. The signpost origami tags (SPOTs) are used to identify the proteins of interest in a 3D volume of the sample generated by cryoET.
