KCI Announces Plans for New Global Headquarters to Accommodate Growth, Expansion
Kinetic Concepts, Inc., a global leader in healing and regeneration, announced plans for and broke ground on a new global headquarters in San Antonio. The headquarters building will be located on San Antonio's northwest side and is expected to be ready to occupy in summer 2012.
The facility, consisting of more than 100,000 square feet of space, will include the company's corporate functions that support its business operations across the globe. KCI currently serves the medical community and patients in more than 20 countries and continues to expand into new markets around the world.
The groundbreaking takes place as KCI celebrates the 35th anniversary of its founding in San Antonio in 1976. Today, KCI employs approximately 2,000 people in San Antonio and currently owns or leases more than 700,000 square feet of existing space in buildings around the city. The San Antonio workforce includes scientists and medical professionals involved in innovative research and development programs, service representatives that support a diverse base of customers, manufacturing professionals, and administrative and corporate teams.

Allevyn Gentle Border Lite dressings for low exudate wounds and reduced skin trauma – Smith & Nephew launches product globally
ALLEVYN Gentle Border Lite is a new addition to the ALLEVYN Gentle Border range of products which all target the reduction of pain associated with dressing changes. The dressings benefit the patient as the gentleness of a silicone gel adhesive minimizes pain and trauma to the wound on removal. In addition this new dressing fits the wound better thanks to a slimmer foam core to provide dressing conformability. ALLEVYN Gentle Border Lite was launched globally.

3M Skin & Wound Care Launches Soothing Antifungal Cream
3M Skin & Wound Care has introduced new 3M™ Cavilon™ Antifungal Cream, an easy‐to‐apply cream that effectively relieves skin discomforts due to fungal infections. Addressing the needs of incontinence caregivers and patients, this new cream offers a soothing solution to relieve redness, irritation, scaling, itching, and burning associated with fungal infections. The new product is available in convenient two‐ounce and five‐ounce tubes.
Cavilon Antifungal Cream has been enriched with water‐repelling ingredients, critically important for protecting vulnerable skin and ideal for helping caregivers working in incontinence settings. The cream has been formulated with two‐percent Miconazole Nitrate, an active ingredient that has been clinically proven to treat tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea pedis (athlete's foot), and tinea cruris (jock itch). The product is also approved for use on fungal infections caused by Candida albicans.
