In the article on page e0337 in the February 2021 compendium of the Journal, the following changes should have been made:

On page 2 under Materials and Methods, talking about the criteria for failure:

“lower than 60 mm Hg [8 kPa] at an Fio2 of 1.0), or KMS less than 3.”

It should be:

“lower than 60 mm Hg [8 kPa] at an Fio2 of 1.0), or KMS greater than 3.”

On page 4, the percentage of patients who used their accessory muscles is listed as:

“(n = 36 [9%] vs n = 15 [3%]; p < 0.001)

It should be:

“(n = 36 [90%] vs n = 15 [38%]; p < 0.001)
