In the above-referenced article, the following information has been corrected:
Page 1, “Introduction” section, paragraph 2, the date that COVID was first reported to the WHO was incorrectly listed as ‘30 December 2020’. The correct sentence reads as:
“Since COVID-19 was first reported to the WHO by Chinese authorities on 30 December 2019, the social practices surrounding death and the disposal of bodies throughout the world6 have been shaped by legal, behavioural and social interventions intended to contain the outbreak.”
