The authors retract this Article as the content and findings in sections 1, 2.1, and 4.1 were concurrently published in another journal, Separation and Purification Technology 2019, 220, 183–188. Additionally, the authors have identified errors [when calculating the energy recovery (RE) of a photocatalytic fuel cell, the power input of the UV light source needs to be taken into account,1 so the correct calculation equation of energy recovery should be
where P, PUV, ΔHC, nsin, tB, and Xin are the power produced (W), the power of UV light source (W), the substrate combustion heat (J/mol), the supplied substrate (mol), the time span (s), and the theoretical energy (W), respectively] in eq 2 in section 4.2, which potentially provide misleading conclusions and analysis of experiments. As such, the Article is being retracted.
The original Article was published on March 26, 2019, and retracted on March 16, 2021.
