Correction to: Breast Cancer 10.1007/s12282-020-01203-y

In the original publication of the article, the following duplicate paragraph under the heading “Future directions of adjunctive ultrasound screening in Japan” has been deleted.

In addition, overdiagnosis must be considered as a harm, but is difficult to assess overdiagnosis at this time [23]. Ultrasound does not delineate punctate or amorphous calcifications without any other abnormality that detected by mammography alone. This means that it does not detect low-grade DCIS and ultrasound has an advantage for overdiagnosis compared with mammography. However, whether small invasive cancers detected by ultrasonography alone are overdiagnosed is a subject for future study.
